Moving to Mexico is a choice that thousands of people make every year. Whether for personal or professional reasons, Mexico offers a wide variety of opportunities that some feel they will not find anywhere else. Some of the more common reasons you may decide to start a new life in Mexico include the opportunity to have access to a different way of life, a slower paced environment, the desire to live in a place rich in culture and better climate and surroundings. Living in Mexico is different than living in the United States. Spanish is the official language spoken although, in many tourist areas, English is more prevalent. You cannot expect the same in the many rural communities that are spread throughout Mexico. Mexico’s pace is unhurried, as in many Latin American communities. Once you get use to the pace, you can actually enjoy the journey to as well as you arrival at your destination.
The cost of living is also different in Mexico. In general, the cost of living is lower for items like fruits, vegetables, meat, and poultry. However, some expenses such as utilities and gas are often higher.
If you are deciding to live in Mexico it is recommended that you research the variables that can affect your current way of life. While the Mexican culture can be different in many ways, there are individuals who feel that the rich culture and up-and-coming economy is worth the change. There are many opportunities in Mexico to be found both economically and culturally. Remember, Mexico is an extremely historical place with a deep and rich past. Because of this, they have very deep-seated traditions. Living in a country where family takes precedence can take time to get used to, but it is a value to be appreciated.
